I woke up in Sulani...

For Ruka things are staying largely unchanged. The kids are getting bigger, work is still frustrating, and Jihoon still seems tense. A lot.  He and Ruka decide to go on a date to a local Senbamachi restaurant to try to relax. It starts out pretty good. They grab some drinks and some food and are laughing and having fun.  But when a vending machine eats Jihoons money his angry side rears it's ugly head again. He starts shaking the machine and yelling. Ruka is starting to get frustrated!  When Jihoon gets another assignemnt in Sulani Ruka decides to surprise him with a vacation. She books a family resort and brings the kiddos out. They have a blast playing in the splash pad on the grounds. Soojin in particular really loves the ocean. They eat popcorn and watch the sunset, swim in the ocean, eat way too many hot dogs and just have a great time relaxing. Even Jihoon can't be upset here! He starts to finally calm down and reach his zen state. Seeing how happy Jihoon is ...

The Secrets of Sylvan Glade

In Ondarion things are starting to get difficult. Amara has done a great job as queen and with Lord Obi's passing there are no more challenges for her title. Yet the kingdom remains in unrest and Amara worries that the dynasty is in danger of falling apart. Unity is at an all time low and there is infighting among her sisters as well. In a meeting with the Capp Dynasty regarding alliances Amara is given some advice that isn't new to her. It's time to get married and secure the future of the Dynasty.  The Capps also have no sons and have already planned out how to make sure their kingdom remains peaceful -- they have arranged a marriage for their daughter. Amara hates this idea but years of courting various princes has given her no heirs so she resigns herself to an arranged groom.  Kwame arrives in the kingdom two days before their wedding. Amara is surprised with him! He is kind, creative, and family oriented. A perfect choice for king!  They are married swiftly. ...

Two wives and three babies....

While Ruka is juggling three kids and Jihoon is figuring out his future, there are big changes in Chestnut Ridge. At a horse show in New Appaloosa Jimin has met a fellow rancher named Hazel Greenwood. Hazel is a seasoned rancher who's father has been running a ranch for decades. She's also a vegetarian and a nature lover. Jimin falls for her FAST and she starts hanging around the ranch everyday. When she gets pregnant Jimin decides to propose! The two get married at the local courthouse and Jimin is overjoyed to have his first child AND for the help around the ranch.  Hazel brings her childhood horse with her to the house and while Jimin is happy for the extra work and opportunity to learn this leaves Taeyang in a bit of a situation. The two bedroom ranch isn't big enough for three adults AND a baby.  He's wrapping up his second university degree anyway and being that he's basically a professional student at this point anyway he decides to move to Plumbite Cove, C...

Anger, Grief, and Coral Reefs...

In the Kim house Ruka struggles with the death of both her parents. She gives birth to a little boy they name Soojin and while she has her hands entirely full with a job and the boys, she misses having a big family like she did when she was younger. She sees Asa with her sprawling acres of land and four children and wishes she had that too.  Jihoon continues to have issues dealing with his grief. Just like with his own parents and with Tatsuya he becomes angry all the time. Ruka pushes him to do some grief counseling, but he comes home even angrier and tells her it was a waste of time! With their inheritance from Ako's estate they move to a larger home in Senbamachi, closer to the center of town. They decide to spend some time apart and see if it helps them heal. Ruka visits her brothers in Chestnut Ridge. While she's there she gets some exciting news--she's pregnant!!! She spends a week or two with Jimin and Taeyang before heading back to Mt. Komorebi. The sunshine here ...

When one door closes...

It's almost time for Ako to make her final move and it's been decided among all the children that Asa's home will be where she lives out the rest of her days. She has the most space, the most time, and her home offers plenty to do to keep Ako busy. She spends the remainder of the summer with the boys on the ranch and then they all have a big get-together before Ako heads home with Asa and Cian. Ako arrives just in time to see Keely take her very first steps!! What an exciting moment for a grandparent (and for Asa and Cian)! Unfortunately, less than a day later Cian hears a loud noise while he is working on his new book...and it turns out Ako has died in the kitchen.  Asa and Cian hold a funeral in Innisfree with all of the family. Everyone is devastated. Ako lead a long and sucessful life and all of her children will miss her dearly. Jimin is taking it especially hard and while he is breaking down who should show up but the ghost of his late father, Tatsuya! Everyone is c...
