Day Three: Proposals and Prom(posals)

It's Afua's birthday! Ako and Tatsuya throw her a huge mermaid party and she enters her teenage years with a dream to be trendy and a creative spirit! Imagine everyone's surprise when former Grand Duke Adekoya shows up to the party. 

Their reunion is bittersweet for Afua who hasn't seen her father in years, but seeing his daughter growing into a young woman seems to change his heart. Against his better judgement Adekoya agrees to welcome Afua into the Darong Dynasty! Finally she belongs! While he still declines to name her a Lady (though the title should be hers) Afua is just happy to finally be able to reveal her lifelong secret. 

Unfortunately, the joy doesn't last -- just two days later tragedy strikes. Upon arrival to her first day at Copperdale High Afua hears whispers in the halls about the former Grand Duke. A news alert on her phone confirms the whispers and she learns that her father has passed away. His last act as the former head of the Dynasty seems to have been acknowledging Afua. Now her place in the Dynasty feels at risk as she isn't even sure her half-sister, the Duchess Jawara even knows she exists! Her first day includes a lot of tears. 

Unaware of the news from Ondarian, Tatsuya surprises the family with a vacation to Selvadorada where he proposes to Ako. Overwhelmed by the proposal and the beautiful scenery Ako suggests they marry THAT DAY.

At the top of a waterfall, in a simple gown, Ako says her vows and Tatsuya becomes a part of the family. Though she is happy for her new step-father and adopted mother, the nuptials become too much for Afua and she collapses in tears again. Noticing her grief Tatsuya and Ako finally learn of Adekoya's death. They cut the trip short and get Afua quickly into grief counseling.

 

Afua finds the counselling useless and sets out to determine if Duchess Jawara Darong knows she is her sister. Her grief turns to anger when she realizes that she does not. While she is grateful to be part of the Dynasty she knows she will never claim her title if she can't prove her parentage. Her frustrations increase when she realizes that prom is around the corner and her semester spent alone in grief and anger has left her without any prospects for a date!

She decides to join the cheer squad and base Sidney Price agrees to go with her as a friend. At least one of her problems is solved! 

Meanwhile a chance audition and supporting role in the film Dead Sea Adventures gives Ako a bump into the world of fame and a massive promotion! With guest and recurring roles now on the table Ako takes an acting class and prepares to jump into the world of all star actors!

Frustrated by his own lack of progression in acting, Tatsuya decides to lock in. He changes to a new agency, hits the gym every day, and gets a new style. It seems like it's working but time will tell! 

Will Duchess Jawara Darong ever learn of her half sister? Will Afua ever regain the title she was born to hold? Will Ako reach the pinnacle of fame? If she does and Tatsuya's career continues to stall out, will it drive them apart? Only time knows...
