...with her Dad! Tatsuya reaches elderly age and starts to question if working is something that he wants to continue to do. He and Ako have plenty of savings and enough retirement that he can finally settle into full time parenting with his girls. Beyond that he starts to float the idea of returning home to Mt Komorebi to live out his remaining years.
She goes on her first date around Valentines Day with John Dill. The date goes OK at first though there isn't much of a romantic spark...
...but things come to a head when Asa plays an impromptu guitar solo and famous actor Thorne Bailey shows up! While Thorne is giving Asa compliments for her musical talent, John is fangirling out so hard that he passes out! Talk about MORTIFYING. Asa gets the ICK and ends the date early. If John can't handle himself around celebrities, then bringing him home to meet her parents is out of the question.
Asa and John agree to be just friends, and Asa spends a few days studying for her upcoming exams. Meanwhile Ruka aces her classes and rises to the top as the presumptive valedictorian!

Everything seems to finally be running smoothly until a burglar breaks into the house in the middle of the night! Tatsuya manages to scare the burglar off before anything can be taken but it sparks new conversations about where they should live out the rest of their days. Tatsuya floats the idea of Mt. Komorebi while Ako reminds Tatsuya that she gave up her dreams of living in the hills of Del Sol Valley so that they could live in family friendly San Sequoia. With that dream back in the forefront of her mind life begins to weigh on Ako and she veers towards a midlife crisis!! She decides to take up painting and even briefly considers giving up acting to become a famous painter instead! Luckily Tatsuya is able to steer her back on track. The two decide to stay put until the girls graduate.

Ruka and Asa spend the weekend shopping, drinking way too much boba tea, and attending a moonlight festival to escape the tensions in the house. Asa in particular enjoys the festival and starts to take an interest in dabbling in magical endeavors. Meanwhile Ruka uses the time to update her wardrobe with some trendier clothes. With prom and Ruka's graduation around the corner where will life take the Nakagawa family next?!
