It's almost time for Ako to make her final move and it's been decided among all the children that Asa's home will be where she lives out the rest of her days. She has the most space, the most time, and her home offers plenty to do to keep Ako busy.
She spends the remainder of the summer with the boys on the ranch and then they all have a big get-together before Ako heads home with Asa and Cian.
Ako arrives just in time to see Keely take her very first steps!! What an exciting moment for a grandparent (and for Asa and Cian)!
Unfortunately, less than a day later Cian hears a loud noise while he is working on his new book...and it turns out Ako has died in the kitchen.
Asa and Cian hold a funeral in Innisfree with all of the family. Everyone is devastated. Ako lead a long and sucessful life and all of her children will miss her dearly.
Jimin is taking it especially hard and while he is breaking down who should show up but the ghost of his late father, Tatsuya! Everyone is comforted in knowing that Ako and Tatsuya are now together eternally.
For Asa grief gets channeled into work and the farm. She spends a lot of time with the mini sheep and chickens and even befriends a fox.
Keely has a way with the animals too! She learns from her mothers interactions and befriends a bunny she names Thumper.
Asa's food has gotten so much praise that she gets an offer to sell and start up a franchise of foods she has created! In the wake of her grief and late into an especially hard pregnancy she accepts the offer. Some time off will feel nice.
Cian struggles with the loss too and starts to have a midlife crisis. He starts rock climbing and gets super into fitness. In the fall Asa gives birth to twins! She names the little girl Kaya -- a mix of her late mother Ako and late father Tatsuya's names. The boy is called Felix. With four kids and a farm to run, Asa will certainly be busy for the foreseeable future!!
How are the boys and Ruka dealing with the loss of their mother? Is Ruka really pregnant? Find out next time!
