The fall of the Duchess

After quarter of living at home quickly becomes a semester and Ruka starts to debate if she even wants to continue in the fall. Jihoon is doing his best to support her and she attends a few grief counseling sessions and calls the sadness hotline as well. Finally in the fall her family convinces her to return to the dorms. Jihoon accompanies her on his way back home to Mt Komorebi. Ruka makes him take a ton of photos with her before he leaves and asks him to call her AS SOON AS he touches down in Mt. Komorebi. Jihoon agrees and heads out.

But her second start at university brings more bad luck...this time to Ondarian where Grand Duchess Jawara has just passed. Afua holds a grand funeral for her and the people of Dambale but there is growing pressure from the people now that Jawara is gone. It seems that there has been a rising alliance to restore Lord Obi as the kingdoms rightful heir. Without a male to officially coronate as her own heir Afua is feeling worried. She has a new baby on the way but if it's another girl she will be forced to choose one of the twins and name an offical heir. But will it be Amara or Nailah? Afua is unsure.

The baby arrives and it's another girl! Afua names her Jawara in honor of her late sister and hopes that the gesture and the joy of a new princess will appease the people. It does but not for long. Afua knows that Lord Obi is not anywhere near ready to be the Grand Duke, let alone the king! She didn't work so hard to lose her place as the ruler of the kingdom! She decides to declare one of the girls as her heir interim so that she can continue to work towards having a little boy.

Still reeling from Jawaras death, the birth of her new child, and what she sees as a potential mutiny from the very people who installed her as queen in the first place Afua makes a descision.

A grand gathering is called in front of the palace and Afua and the King prepare to declare the new heir to the Dambale Palace and the Darong Dynasty.....

It's AMARA!! As the older twin (and the more responsible one) it just makes sense. Amara is crowned and declared and Afua feels the pressure is off...at least for now. A male heir would definitely help her secure her crown!

Back at university Ruka pours all her energy into soccer. Her team wins the tournament this year and while she wants to be happy about it she just finds herself bored. Nothing makes her happy anymore!!

She finds herself staring out the window all day long and just wanting to sleep. Life feels empty for her. Her counselor suggests she try some new things out to see if she can find some things that will bring her joy that WON'T remind her of Tatsuya.

So she and Jihoon plan a Spring Break trip to Bagford-on-Henley. They check out the local pubs...

Ruka even gets to spend some time with the animals! The cows are SO cute! But she still feels down. Grief is just so hard!

Jihoon returns to Mt. Komorebi and graduates with his degree in Computer Science. He immediately gers a job as a Computer Engineer at a large manufacturing plant in Mt. Komorebi.

Ruka participates in the Foxbury Spirit Day event where she is scouted by a professional soccer team! Could she really be a professional athlete? Ruka isn't sure. She's had her sights set on that Marine Biology career but at the same time...playing soccer is so fun. She starts to really think it over. At the end of term, she meets Jihoon for a weekend trip to Innisfree.

...and he PROPOSES!!! The whole family is excited for the two of them. Ruka and Asa decide to finish out their senior year of college at home helping out with Taeyang and Jimin. Though both boys are in school Ako seems happy for the company and is loving having all her kids at home again.

If only Tatsuya were still here....

Day one and two: The Unraveling of Secrets

Afua, Tatsuya, and Ako   Our story begins with Ako Neal. As a little girl growing up in Tomarang all Ako has dreamed about is being a famous actress. A surprise inheritance of $4000 gives her the money she needs to move to Copperdale to try to make it big. She finds a talent agency, books a few gigs and immediately falls for fellow actor Tatsya Nakagawa. The chemistry is intense! But imagine her disappointment when he says he isn't interested!! Later that day a friend, Makoa asks her out. But on their first date she learns that he is already married!! A mysterious phone call offers her a big inheritance if she marries in the next week which only makes Ako more frustrated about Tatsuya's "No thanks" and Makoas betrayal. Even worse Tatsuya calls her later to let her know he's interested in someone else!! She calls up her bestie Vanesha who suggests a girls night in San Myshuno.  In a tiny karaoke bar in the Fashion district she encounters Ekene Ananou, an elder who ...

Crowns and Crimes

Things are looking up for Afua as the second semester of school gets into full swing. She has lots of friends, cheer is going well, and she even participates in the popular T-challenge for charity! But the good times don't last long. At prom  Lady Sofia Abrantes  of the Thebe Dynasty in Veronaville shows up. She immediately begins to whisper about a rumor in Ondarian that there is a secret heir to the Darong Dynasty! Afua stays silent but wonders if it's true...is there really a chance that she outranks the current Grand Duchess?  As if on cue, the following day a letter arrives for her. What's inside is a secret that could change her entire life!! But what should she choose? Afua isn't sure. She puts the letter in a safe place and decides to worry about it later. For Ako there are big changes as well. A role on the popular prime time show, The Urbz earns her a nomination at the Starlight Awards.
